Dear friends,

FISH MD turned 10 years old in March of this year. Since it began, many lives have been saved and forever changed for the better through the generosity of people like you!

Faith in Serving Humanity (FISH) has served Walton County for more than 30 years. Throughout that time, we have seen the terrible impact that a lack of medical care has on people we serve. Lack of medical care for those who can’t afford a doctor’s visit or medication can have life-altering consequences. We have seen people suffering from strokes because they can’t afford their blood pressure medication, broken bones never set properly, diabetes complications, along with countless other tragic circumstances where easily treatable conditions become life-threatening or fatal.

FISH MD was created to assist our Walton County neighbors in need who are uninsured or under-insured. The ministry’s purpose is to stabilize the health of the indigent, homeless, and those from low-income households who have gone for many years without proper healthcare.

At a time when inflation is affecting so many of us, making the costs of medical care even higher, FISH MD is working to expand our programs. We are treating patients for health concerns like diabetes, hypertension, breast and prostate health, gynecological issues, mental illness, thyroid issues, severe dental and gum disease, and more. We have also seen a significant increase in the medically fragile homeless population and are working to meet their medical needs before they become more serious. With your support, FISH MD has seen 30% more patients this year than last year.

FISH MD has established a diabetes management program which, in addition to medical monitoring, provides education and exercise classes. A denture lab has also been completed and is improving the quality of life for patients. Transportation, which is a major issue for some patients, can be provided to and from appointments. This year the FISH MD clinics have seen more than 4,000 patients.

At the self-pay rate, these services would have cost more than $3 million. The clinic staff provides excellent and compassionate care for our patients. We are also blessed by medical professionals in our community who give hundreds of hours in volunteer service. As their medical needs are addressed and their health stabilized, many FISH MD patients can work again and care for themselves and their families.

On average, one medical or dental visit to FISH MD costs the ministry about $75.00. 100% of every donation goes directly to provide health services to a patient in need! Please consider donating today so that FISH MD can continue its life saving ministry.
